Just recently I started experimenting with time-lapse photography.
Currently I am filming stuff all around my town to make a short music video. But, while I’m still gathering shots for it, I decided to post a small test video with some of the shots I have done so far.
Now some technical info: Everything was shot with Nikon D5100 and 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5G lens. Everything was shot in RAW, so the average file size was 15.5 mb(1200 frames – 18.2gb.)
After processing RAW files, I saved them as jpeg’s, so I can work with them in Adobe Premiere.
In Premiere, all frames were imported as Image Sequence and some effects like zoom and pan was added to make the scene a bit more interesting.
One more thing I’d like to mention: The final output for the video I mentioned at the beginning will be in 4k(4,096×2,304) with 30 fremes per second. Below, you can click to preview full 4k frames from the video.
Exif: 2sec.┃f/5.0┃iso 100┃70mm(105mm in 35mm format)
Exif: 1.6sec.┃f/4.0┃iso 400┃18mm(27mm in 35mm format)
Why make the video 4k?
Answer: Because I can!
